View Full Version : DeuceAce poker league - Are you interested?
John D 08-28-2006, 04:05 PM Hey,
I have been talking to a few rooms lately and I am thinking of setting up a poker league for deuceace members.
I would like to run one freeroll tournament each week on a different room each week, maybe around 5 rooms in total for the league.
The winners of each game will be a small prize and points will be awarded in the league then the top players with the most points at the end of the league will split the main prize pool.
I am also planning on running a buy-in game after each freeroll because a few people have been asking to get one going :)
Are you interested in this? If your not can you let me know why and as always, open for suggestions :)
Thanks
Lewis84 08-28-2006, 09:39 PM I would possibly be interested in both, but for now i'll just make my vote for the freerolls, as the buy-ins would depend greatly on where they are, as im not interested in depositing to lots of different rooms, or rooms i don't think the software is up to much on.
But obviously if they were on the right rooms for me, i'd be more than happy to play the buy-in games!
John D 08-28-2006, 09:58 PM No problem, I know a lot wont deposit on smaller rooms or rooms they wouldn't be likely to play on again.
I just finalised some freerolls on Titan that I will be running next month, as long as the first few go well I will likely be setting up small buy-in games there.
Yea im in on both and go Titan got to love it there.
Emerge 08-31-2006, 11:36 AM I would, but I don't want to have to download any more poker rooms.
Sorry, they just take up space on the cpu.

Wow how many do you have that it takes up that much room your lucky if the apps are 2mb
John D 08-31-2006, 02:14 PM I think a lot of the rooms are around 20mb, really depends what software they are running.
How many rooms do you have installed Emerge?
They shouldn't take up too many resources as long as you aren't loading them at startup or running them all at once, I'm sure your not doing that though.
The only resources they take up when they aren't actually running is the space of the files, just checked the first one on my computer, Absolute, and that takes up 19mb.
smdstudios 09-01-2006, 02:32 PM I've played on Titan a lot and still have some money over there so it sounds good to me! :)
Sheepodog 09-01-2006, 07:08 PM I'd have to say I'm in for the freeroll play!...and maybe instead of splitting prize pool with leaders at end of month, offer a "leaderboard" private trny for the top players of the month only?
John D 09-01-2006, 08:08 PM Do you mean the top players from each game?
Let me know more what you mean because I'm thinking a few things here :)
Great smd, really looking forward to playing you! Hope Doug can get in on a game as well ;)
1rainbow 09-01-2006, 08:13 PM when we doin this :)
1rainbow 09-01-2006, 08:19 PM ok i just read the schedule for sept & oct, it says for the games to email you with our info, do you already have my info or are we to email you for each game we want to play in ?? i want to play in all of them including the buyins :)
John D 09-01-2006, 10:19 PM You will have to email for each game to prevent passwords being shared to ensure it is DeuceAce members playing :)
1rainbow 09-01-2006, 10:56 PM ok that's kewl i can do that ;) thx for the games :)

What I had in mind was give a value to whatever position you finish in, in each individual trny...then keep a running total of points for each player in all of the trnys, then invite the top 40 or 50 point leaders into a separate trny for them, based on their performance over the course of all of the trnys...also each individual trny would have whatever amt u set up for each freeroll.
John D 09-02-2006, 11:15 AM IF we get enough players I can do that ;)
I need people to post here well in advance so I can judge the interest, too many people leave it until the last minute which makes things a lot harder to organise.
If you know anyone interested, even if they aren't registered yet, can you ask them to post here and vote in the freeroll :)
It really will make a big difference to what happens.
Thanks :)
ChilliMonkey 09-03-2006, 02:14 PM This all sounds really good, especially the poker league. Sheepdog's idea sounds cool and i'd be interested in taking part.
I heard good things about Titan, downloaded it and it seems like a nice site abit like noble poker.
John...... I have tried to sign up for the free roll group and I'm not sure if i have done it right:banghead: Do you know what I am doing wrong? and am I eligable to join?:)
You know me john im in for it all its all good for me times games etc so when where and how all i need ;)
John D 09-03-2006, 03:55 PM Chilli, you did apply properly but you need to have 25 quality (25+ words each) posts.
Once you have that I will approve you for the group and all freerolls :)
rnRobert 09-03-2006, 04:27 PM Sounds like good fun, how about a badge for the monthly winners ;)
ChilliMonkey 09-03-2006, 09:24 PM O.k cheers John....I'll keep posting....dont know about the 'quality' though!:D
SwtJen 09-03-2006, 09:50 PM Hey John,
I would like to try out a league--but I can only play in the evenings (EST time). I'm not sure when you would be having the games, but let me know as I would be interested in trying out a league.
John D 09-04-2006, 12:51 AM What times are you available?
You can see a schedule of the freerolls organised so far at www.DeuceAce.com/tournaments.php
Most freerolls are going to be at 2pm EST at weekends because that suits people in Europe as well (Including myself :))
SwtJen 09-04-2006, 02:11 AM John,
Just make sure that you give enough notice for any of the events. I don't have my 25 posts yet, but I am working on it. I am pretty busy, but I am trying. Just keep us all posted on what is happening and I think that there will be a good turnout for it all.
SwtJen 09-04-2006, 02:14 AM I am almost always available on weekends. I am mostly tied up during the week. So if we have tournaments and do the League on weekends, then I will be able to participate. If it is during the week, it will have to be after 6pm Eastern time. Just an FYI--thanks
SwtJen 09-04-2006, 02:16 AM I checked out the freeroll schedule and it looks fine. Like you said, most are going to be on the weekends--which usually works better for most people. I will make sure to check the schedule more regularly---I wasn't aware there was a schedule to just now---I'm still new to the forum--so I am still snooping around the site!!
John D 09-04-2006, 10:45 AM No problem, the schedule was just added :)
