I saw this video at Toys R Us where you can buy a magic deck and do tricks on it.
Do you think that these can be used to cheat in games? Like dealing Aces for themseles all the time?

Most tricks can only be done once before the deck needs to be re-positioned.
Don't think that would happen unless you are talking about tagged cards. But if its in a well known casino, they wouldn't risk it. ( i think )

Why are people obsessed with aces here?

i am worried a lot more about cheating in online poker than regular poker. It seems very easy for 2 buddies to be sitting at the same online table together, and chatting on IM or over the phone about what hands they are holding.

i think even if there were people that did that though, it would not provide for that great of an advantage. Only knowing what 2 other cards are can be of some advantage, but probably in all not that great of an advantage, i'm sure people do it, but i am not scared of it.

It does happen and I have seen people using the room chat to get people they know to IM/phone them a lot.

I don't think it would have any great advantage but if you were worried you could ask a live chat operator but not sure if they can do anything..

I thought of that when I read this topic. You and your buddy would whip the table doing this. I hope I'm not at the same table when you do this LOL.
Don't get caught, but then again how will they catch you, they won't know. Unless the computer has a keylogger and they are reading the whole conversation with your buddy on AIM. Hmm I'm giving myself Ideas. LOL :D

I really doubt anyone could deal themselves specific cards.

You have to shuffle the cards in front of everyone.

If you look at the magic tricks the deck normally isn’t magic but it’s just deception.
I’m sure there are some tricks dealers can do but I think it would be more complicated with poker than some other games, like Blackjack for example.

Yes it would be very easy to do in blackjack.
Actually I was playing my little brother a month ago and tried it. It worked then I told him I just tricked him. I gave him his money back because I hate scamming lol.
