Does anybody know any good trapping techniques? There is always just to raise a lot when you get a good hand, but then people will fold. Are there any good strategies you use to generate a great trap?

There is always just to raise a lot when you get a good hand, but then people will fold. Are there any good strategies you use to generate a great trap? By definition.. "raising a lot when you get a good hand" does not come with trapping. Trapping would be slow playing, or successfully getting other players to think you're much weaker than you actually are and have them make a move @ you at which point you come over the top. MySpades 12-23-2005, 10:20 PM I see... but doing that you won't be getting the most out of your hand. Trapping is making the most out of a good hand, and if you make people think you have a weak hand, you'll have to just check and call, and you must just raise a lot on the river, but you wouldn't make maximum that way. mason 12-24-2005, 01:24 AM I see... but doing that you won't be getting the most out of your hand. "Trapping is making the most out of a good hand" Sounds like confusion between trapping and capitalizing. "and if you make people think you have a weak hand, you'll have to just check and call, and you must just raise a lot on the river" Not necessarily. Emerge 12-26-2005, 11:28 AM Mason is right, in the end most traps end up in all ins. |
