I have seen the same hand many times and the same thing normally happens...all in the the three of a kind.

This was a mistake I used to make myself when I started out.

I think I deserve a slap on the wrist here...
I more than likely would have done the same in his position :(

It's good to get some hands played here..

They are a great help to all players to think about their game.

Not sure what I would have done for this hand to be honest..

ok, well I'll tell you the first mistake AA made preflop was he didn't raise enough. If you raise small hoping to get action, expect that you will, but also know that it won't let you get a better concept of where you are in the hand.

Secondly, after the flop, there is $9 in the pot. AA proceeded to bet out $4 which is less than 50% of the pot total, this is screaming a trap with AA to me and I call knowing I'm beat, but I also call knowing if my open end straight comes, I will get paid in full. He should've bet at least $9 after the flop to reduce my pot odds in calling.

There is a third mistake too...will touch on it shortly.

Remember, it's better to win a small pot than to lose a big one.

i understand where your coming from, but I dont find chasing to be profitable very often

I assume you mean that I was chasing?

yes, not bashing you I am just saying I chase occasionally and it rarely pays off in the long run

Yep it is quite a lot to risk since your chasing...more chance that it wouldn't have paid off.

I'll have to disagree with both of you that I was "chasing" at any time.

I limped for $1. AA only raised $2 and there was a caller in between. I'm now getting 3:1 on my money to call. A $2 raise isn't enough to get someone to fold their $1 investment with a caller in between with a hand like 54suited.

After the flop it certainly wasn't chasing. I have about a 36% chance of getting an ace or a 6, and if I'm lucky enough for him to have an ace pair up on the turn then the implied odds are for everything in his stack...a bet of $4 into a $9 pot was screaming for me to take the "gamble" of 36% and continue my draw.

Well he deserved it, he tried to get cute with his pocket aces. You always need to raise to knock out bad aces, off suits, and small suited connectors. It's his own fault for doing it, and yet at the flop he had another opportunity to raise substantially and he didn't do it. He played them horrible.

Yes! I am always complacent winning blinds, nobody else understands this but me. Hahaa :D

It's not chasing if your opponent doesn't make you pay for it. My philosophy: If you give it to me, I'll take it.
