The Future of Rake Back

Just as Internet play was the future of poker, rake back deals are the future of Internet poker. If rakeback is a new idea to you, you may be wondering what it is, where it is going, and where it is taking the world of online poker. The possibilities are limitless.

The poker rakeback deal is the evolution of the online poker bonus. Online poker bonuses are incentives that Internet poker sites use to get you to play on that site rather than another. If you make a deposit on the site offering the bonus and include the bonus code, you get an additional amount, based on the amount you deposited, added to your account. When you have played enough raked hands, that amount is released for you to play with or withdraw as you see fit.

The rake back deal is even better. With a rake back deal, you sign up with a poker site through an affiliate site that offers rake back. Once you are signed on, you get a percentage of the rake, the amount taken out of each pot to pay the casino, returned to you. Poker players, especially professionals, love this idea because they have always felt that the rake unfairly cuts into their win rate, especially at the lower limits, where the percentage of maximum rake taken out can be higher.

What is next for rake back? Well, as it becomes more popular, more sites may offer it. Right now poker rake back is offered mostly by poker affiliate sites, and some online poker sites, such as PartyPoker, do not accept sign ups with rake back deals. As the competition grows, more sites may realize that rake back is necessary to recruit and keep players.

Once rake back becomes a given, the next step is getting rid of the rake entirely. Already the World Poker Exchange is offering rake free poker, deriving its income from the traffic driven to its sports betting site through poker. Other poker sites may learn to generate other revenue streams, and when they do, they can do away with rake as well. As word spreads, players will forgo the sites that charge rake and flock to the ones that don’t. Eventually, all poker sites may move to a no rake policy and when they do, both Internet poker room and Internet poker player will flourish and prosper.
